Warranty Policy

Warranty Policy

Effective Date: July 5, 2026

Prime Line Auto Parts LLC is committed to providing quality pre-owned automotive engines and related drivetrain components. This Warranty Policy explains the warranty coverage, customer responsibilities, claim procedures, exclusions, and limitations applicable to eligible products purchased through https://www.primelineautopart.com.

By purchasing an eligible product from Prime Line Auto Parts LLC, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Warranty Policy.

1. Our Commitment to Quality

Eligible engines are evaluated as part of our quality-control process before shipment to help ensure they meet our quality standards.

Because our products are previously owned automotive components, normal cosmetic wear—including scratches, surface oxidation, discoloration, and other signs of prior use—may be present. These cosmetic characteristics are typical of used automotive parts and do not affect warranty eligibility unless they interfere with the intended operation or safety of the product.

2. Limited Warranty Coverage

Prime Line Auto Parts LLC provides a Limited Warranty covering verified internal mechanical failures of eligible used engines during the applicable warranty period.

Our Standard Limited Warranty coverage is valid for 6 months from the date of delivery.

Warranty coverage applies only when:

  • The engine has been installed by a qualified professional automotive repair facility.
  • All installation and maintenance requirements have been followed.
  • The engine has been operated under normal driving conditions.
  • Required installation, diagnostic, and maintenance documentation has been retained.
  • All other requirements described in this Warranty Policy have been satisfied.

Nothing in this Warranty Policy excludes or limits any implied warranty, consumer protection, or other legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by state.

3. Covered Components

The Limited Warranty covers verified failures of internally lubricated engine components, including:

  • Engine block
  • Cylinder heads
  • Crankshaft
  • Camshaft
  • Pistons
  • Connecting rods
  • Internal bearings
  • Valvetrain components, where applicable
  • Other internally lubricated engine components

Coverage applies only to the eligible engine and covered internal components described above.

4. Components Not Covered

Unless specifically stated otherwise in writing, this warranty does not cover external accessories, attached components, or normal maintenance items, including but not limited to:

  • Sensors
  • Wiring harnesses
  • Water pumps
  • Thermostats
  • Gaskets
  • Seals
  • Belts
  • Hoses
  • Intake manifolds
  • Exhaust manifolds
  • Fuel-system components
  • Electrical components
  • Filters
  • Fluids
  • Spark plugs
  • Ignition components
  • Starter motors
  • Alternators
  • Air-conditioning compressors

Failure of an excluded component does not, by itself, constitute a covered warranty claim.

5. Warranty Period

Warranty coverage begins on the date the product is delivered to the customer.

The Standard Limited Warranty is valid for:

Warranty Type Coverage Period Additional Cost
Standard Limited Warranty 6 Months from Delivery Included

Warranty coverage applies only to the original purchaser and the vehicle identified on the original sales invoice.

Warranty coverage expires at the end of the applicable warranty period.

No mileage limit applies to the Standard Limited Warranty unless a different written warranty term is specifically stated on the customer’s final sales invoice.

6. Vehicle Compatibility

Customers are responsible for confirming that the purchased engine is compatible with their vehicle before purchase.

Prime Line Auto Parts LLC may request the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and other vehicle specifications to assist with compatibility verification. While we make reasonable efforts to verify compatibility, final responsibility for selecting and confirming the correct engine remains with the customer.

Returns resulting from incorrect ordering, customer error, compatibility issues, or change of mind are subject to our Return & Refund Policy.

7. Inspection Upon Delivery

Customers should inspect both the engine and its shipping pallet, crate, or packaging immediately upon delivery and before signing the freight carrier’s delivery receipt or Bill of Lading whenever possible.

If visible freight damage is discovered:

  • Take clear photographs of the engine, pallet, crate, and packaging.
  • Note the damage on the freight carrier’s delivery receipt or Bill of Lading.
  • Notify Prime Line Auto Parts LLC within 48 hours of delivery.

Failure to document and report visible shipping damage within this timeframe may affect freight-claim eligibility.

8. Installation Requirements

To maintain warranty eligibility, the following requirements apply.

Professional Installation

The engine must be installed by a qualified professional automotive repair facility.

The customer must retain a dated installation invoice or repair order identifying, where applicable:

  • The customer’s name
  • Vehicle year, make, and model
  • Vehicle Identification Number
  • Engine or product installed
  • Installation date
  • Services and maintenance items performed
  • Name and contact information of the repair facility

Self-installation or installation without verifiable professional documentation may affect or result in denial of warranty coverage, subject to applicable law.

Recommended Maintenance and Replacement Items

Customers are strongly encouraged to replace all manufacturer-recommended maintenance items during installation, including where applicable:

  • Water pump
  • Thermostat
  • Timing belt
  • Timing chain
  • Filters
  • Fluids
  • Gaskets
  • Seals

Failure to replace a maintenance item may affect warranty coverage when that failure directly causes or contributes to the claimed engine damage.

Documentation

Customers must retain:

  • Installation invoice
  • Repair order
  • Maintenance records
  • Receipts for required fluids, filters, and replacement items
  • Diagnostic reports relating to any claimed failure

These documents may be required during warranty review.

9. Warranty Claims

If a covered failure is suspected:

  • Discontinue operating the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so.
  • Do not continue driving the vehicle if continued operation may cause additional damage.
  • Do not disassemble, remove, repair, return, or ship the engine without prior written authorization from Prime Line Auto Parts LLC.
  • Contact Prime Line Auto Parts LLC within 10 business days after discovering the suspected issue.

Customers may be required to provide:

  • Order number
  • Customer name
  • Vehicle VIN
  • Installation invoice
  • Repair order
  • Maintenance records
  • Diagnostic report from a qualified repair facility
  • Photographs and/or videos
  • Error codes or test results
  • Any additional supporting documentation reasonably requested

Incomplete, inaccurate, or missing documentation may delay the warranty review or affect warranty eligibility.

Submission of a claim does not automatically mean that the claim has been approved.

10. Warranty Review and Resolution

Prime Line Auto Parts LLC may inspect the available documentation, request additional diagnostic information, authorize further testing, or arrange for inspection of the engine before making a claim determination.

After reviewing an approved claim, Prime Line Auto Parts LLC may, at its discretion and subject to applicable law:

  • Repair the covered component;
  • Replace the engine;
  • Provide a reasonably comparable replacement engine;
  • Issue a partial refund; or
  • Issue a full refund of the eligible product purchase price.

The method of resolution will depend on the circumstances of the claim, product availability, inspection findings, and applicable warranty terms.

11. Warranty Authorization and Freight

No engine may be returned, shipped, removed, disassembled, repaired, or replaced as part of a warranty claim without prior written authorization from Prime Line Auto Parts LLC.

If a return is authorized, Prime Line Auto Parts LLC will provide:

  • A Return Merchandise Authorization number;
  • The authorized return address;
  • Packaging and freight instructions; and
  • Written information regarding responsibility for applicable freight charges.

Responsibility for warranty-related return freight, replacement freight, residential delivery charges, liftgate fees, limited-access charges, and other carrier-imposed fees will be stated in the written claim determination or authorization.

Customers should not incur freight, removal, repair, installation, diagnostic, or other expenses with the expectation of reimbursement unless Prime Line Auto Parts LLC has approved those expenses in writing beforehand.

Unauthorized returns may be refused or returned to the sender at the sender’s expense.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Prime Line Auto Parts LLC’s total liability for an approved warranty claim shall not exceed the original purchase price paid for the covered product.

Unless specifically approved in writing as part of a warranty resolution, Prime Line Auto Parts LLC is not responsible for:

  • Labor or installation costs
  • Engine removal or reinstallation costs
  • Towing charges
  • Diagnostic fees
  • Rental-vehicle expenses
  • Hotel accommodations
  • Loss of vehicle use
  • Loss of income
  • Business interruption
  • Fluids or maintenance items
  • Taxes
  • Freight or shipping charges
  • Residential, liftgate, storage, redelivery, or accessorial fees
  • Indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages

Nothing in this section excludes or limits any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

13. 30-Day Return Policy

Customers may request a return within 30 calendar days of delivery in accordance with our Return & Refund Policy.

For approved non-defective returns:

  • Any shipping or freight charges paid by the customer are non-refundable once incurred.
  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.
  • A restocking fee of up to 20% may apply.
  • The product must be returned in substantially the same condition as received.
  • Prior Return Merchandise Authorization approval is required.

The 30-day return period is separate from warranty coverage and remains subject to the complete terms of our Return & Refund Policy.

14. Warranty Exclusions

Warranty coverage may be denied or become void when the claimed damage results from or is materially contributed to by:

  • Improper installation
  • Installation without required professional documentation
  • Failure to maintain proper lubrication
  • Incorrect or contaminated fluids
  • Overheating
  • Oil starvation
  • Racing or competition use
  • Off-road use or abuse
  • Commercial abuse or use outside normal operating conditions
  • Improper maintenance
  • Continued operation after warning signs or suspected failure
  • Unauthorized repairs
  • Unauthorized modification or disassembly
  • Removal or alteration of serial numbers or identification labels
  • Removal or tampering with heat tabs, where applicable
  • Failure caused by excluded external components
  • Failure to follow manufacturer installation or maintenance requirements
  • Damage occurring during unauthorized transportation or return
  • Fraudulent, altered, or incomplete documentation

Warranty coverage will not be denied solely because of an unrelated condition that did not cause or contribute to the claimed failure.

15. Non-Transferability

This warranty is non-transferable.

Coverage applies only to:

  • The original purchaser; and
  • The vehicle identified on the original sales invoice.

Subsequent owners, replacement vehicles, or vehicles not identified on the original invoice are not eligible for coverage unless otherwise agreed in writing by Prime Line Auto Parts LLC.

16. Policy Updates

Prime Line Auto Parts LLC reserves the right to modify this Warranty Policy at any time.

Any modification applies prospectively to purchases made after the updated policy is published, unless otherwise required by applicable law. The warranty terms applicable to an existing purchase will be those provided or made available at the time of purchase.
